"Little Shop Of Horrors"

The Derby Dinner Playhouse

"Little Shop Of Horrors" will be playing at the Derby Dinner Playhouse through March 30th, and this is not a performance that you will want to miss!

This delightful musical is everything that one would expect it to be:  suspenseful, dramatic, and absolutely brilliant!  When a floral assistant purchases a rare plant, it radically changes the luck of a downtown shop, but with this new-found success comes a sacrifice that Seymour could have never imagined.

This production is packed to the brim with witty and often comical numbers, mostly sang by a trio of musical narrators played by Tymika Prince, Tamika Skaggs, and Illy Kirven. They seem to pop up all over the set, sometimes from the strangest places!  The roles of Seymour and Audrey were filled by Ricky Cona and Jillian Prefach, who were the perfect mix of drama and comedy, culminating in the wonderful rendition of "Suddenly, Seymour". Kevin Crain was the PERFECT shop owner, Mr. Mushnik, while Matthew Bryan Feld was purely sadistic as the dentist, Orin. The voice of Audrey ll was the hilariously talented Rendell Debose.

The Derby Dinner Playhouse really also outdid themselves this time with the costumes and the large, detailed set.  Patrons had no choice but to feel instantly transported to a floral shop with a psychotic plant in charge.

The Derby Dinner Playhouse is located in Clarksville, Indiana... right over the bridge from Louisville, Kentucky. It is a theater in the round, and has been in operation since 1974, making it one of the oldest and largest continuously operating theatres in the country!

Not only will you receive a top notch production for your ticket price, but a mouth-watering meal, served buffet style, boasting favorites like fried chicken, mouth-watering pasta selections, and a meat carving station. Some of the best desserts around are also offered, like the hummingbird cake or the brownie sundae!
