The Wizard Of Oz

"The Wizard Of Oz" will be playing at the Derby Dinner Playhouse through August 18th. Get your tickets early, because this show is definitely going to be a sell out!

The beloved tale of the Wizard of Oz is known throughout the globe as one of the most beautiful, theatrical productions of all times.  However, it feels somehow even more endearing at the Derby Dinner Playhouse! Perhaps it is the wonderful cast, or maybe it is the delightfully full stomach.  In fact, I am quite certain that it is a mixture of both.

The production, as always, is wonderfully cast, with the role of Dorothy played by an extraordinarily talented Cami Glauser.  Not to be outdone, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Lion were played by an energetic and exciting Matthew Brennan, Tyler Bliss, and Paul Kerr.

I must add that the Footnotes, the pre-show entertainment, are absolutely fantastic!  Performing songs from other adaptations of the story of Oz and its inhabitants, they began with "The Wizard and I", and ended with a remarkable rendition of "Defying Gravity" that must have given everyone in the room goosebumps.

The Derby Dinner Playhouse also provides a creative set for this production, everywhere from the farm in Kansas to the infamous land of Oz.

The Derby Dinner Playhouse is located in Clarksville, Indiana... right over the bridge from Louisville, Kentucky. It is a theater in the round, and has been in operation since 1974, making it one of the oldest and largest continuously operating theatres in the country!

You will receive a top notch production for your ticket price, along with a mouth-watering meal, served buffet style, boasting favorites like fried catfish, mouth-watering pasta selections, and a meat carving station. Some of the best desserts around are also offered, like the hummingbird cake or the brownie sundae!
