"Southern Crossroads" will be playing at the Derby Dinner Playhouse through September 29th. Get your tickets early, because this show is one that you may even want to see twice!

Often, in our extremely stressful world, we just want to go out, relax, and completely immerse ourselves in good theater.  Well, the Derby Dinner Playhouse is definitely on the same page this season. This tale of a vagabond, musical family is truly heartwarming, while it keeps your foot tapping to the rhythm of tunes such as Midnight Special, Shenandoah, and Irene Goodnight... with an extra spectacular rendition of House of the Rising Sun!

The production, as always, is wonderfully cast with many familiar faces, including Paul Kerr, Scott Bradley, J.R. Stuart, Jillian Prefach, Cary Wiger, Janet Essenpreis, Chris Bryant, Jim Schweickart, and Mark McCulloch.

I was extremely excited to see Elizabeth Loos in the cast again. Whether she is playing mean old Miss Hannigan or the sweet natured Shannon, she is definitely one of my DDP performers!

And not to be outdone, Scott Anthony, portraying the character of Loomis, is absolutely brilliant, mixing comedy and sentiment seamlessly, and definitely wins the gold star.

The Derby Dinner Playhouse provides a fun-filled set for this production, based on a shut-down theater and its adjacent park... providing plenty of spaces for the Green family to sing, dance, and entertain. This production is special in that the actual audience plays the part of the audience in the play... with Derby goers laughing, clapping, and even throwing an occasional dollar into the fiddle case.

The Derby Dinner Playhouse is located in Clarksville, Indiana... right over the bridge from Louisville, Kentucky. It is a theater in the round, and has been in operation since 1974, making it one of the oldest and largest continuously operating theatres in the country!

You will receive a top notch production for your ticket price, along with a mouth-watering meal, served buffet style, boasting favorites like fried chicken, mouth-watering pasta selections, and a meat carving station. Some of the best desserts around are also offered, like the hummingbird cake or the brownie sundae! However, if you really want to splurge, the way to go is the peanut butter pie.  It's practically against the law.
