Christmas hasn't quite arrived in Louisville until you've gathered up the family and bought your tickets to A Christmas Carol at Actors Theatre. Seated in a darkened space, the season seems to swirl around in the air with the snow that falls on the stage. Are you in the holiday spirit yet?

Actors Theatre will be showcasing Charles Dickens' beloved tale through December 23rd. Let this become a new Christmas tradition, or continue one with this exhilarating performance.

A Christmas Carol is a thought-provoking adventure that explores the very soul of Christmas and its biggest villain who, with a little help from his often-colorful cohorts in the spirit world, realizes the error of his ways before it's too late.  This is a performance built steadily upon human emotions, and you can feel every sigh and each bout of laughter with clear intent.

Directed by Drew Fracher, Actors Theatre continues to excel with this production, breathing new life into the play each and every year.

Ebenezer Scrooge, once again played by John G. Preston, is the perfect epitome of what one would envision as Scrooge.  He somehow manages to superfluously move from villain to hero, as he engages the entire audience in his journey.

The performance is filled with excitement, as the Ghost of Christmas Past presents a fine visual spectatcle of aerial acrobatics, the Ghost of Christmas Present provides light-hearted merriment, and the Ghost of Christmas Past overtakes the stage with haunting reminders of "what if."

You will also experience a lovely surprise in the narration this year, as Sherman Fracher sheds a new light on the narration this year. She adds a touch of comedy as she leads the audience from one scene to the next with absolute brilliance.

Get ready for the holiday season, and grab your tickets before they're gone. You'll enjoy every minute of this fantastical Christmas tradition.
