The Knife and Fork Inn

Now, we mentioned Nucky Johnson early on, so it would be remiss to not start off with the fact that yes... he actually ate here.  Devotees of HBO's Boardwalk Empire may flock here to just be in the same building, but the crowd of guests in the entryway are plainly here for the food, the ambiance, and the impeccable service that makes the Knife and Fork Inn one of Atlantic City's top restaurants!

The building itself, had I no knowledge of the wonders within, would draw me in merely out of curiosity.  It stands proudly at the crossroads of Atlantic, Pacific, and Albany Avenues, and if a building could ever be said to possess a personality, it would be the Knife and Fork Inn.  And it is no wonder, because throughout its storied past, specifically during Prohibition, it has more than likely seen its fair share of colorful characters, intense situations, and roaring good times!

Sometimes the atmosphere of a restaurant can overshadow the food, but this is not at all the case.  The unique setting of the Knife and Fork Inn pairs perfectly with some of the best food that I have tasted... ever.

The appetizers and salads are served in generous portions, with choices like the Warm Spinach Salad, a Shrimp Cobb Salad, Kobe Sliders, and delicious Grilled Tuna Skewers.  The Lobster Bisque is a creamy masterpiece, filled with tender chunks of lobster that could nearly serve as an entree, it is so filling!

But make no mistake, there is no skipping the main course at the Knife and Fork Inn... especially when they specialize in steaks grilled to something quite beyond perfection.  With two sizes of Filet Mignon and Sirloin to choose from, the steaks and chops keep coming, with a Dry-Aged Bone In Cowboy, the Herb-Crusted Rack of Lamb, and Braised Short Ribs... to list a few.

And the seafood also makes a prized appearance, with options like Grilled Swordfish, Pan Roasted Lake Trout, Seared Four-Spice Tuna, and the Lobster Tail.

The enormous side dishes must not be left out, because you must somehow find room for the Beer Battered String Beans, the French Fried Beet Chips, and the Onion Rings!

Is it fair to say that this is my absolute favorite restaurant in Atlantic City?  In the effort of full disclosure, I think I must admit that I would rather be at the Knife and Fork Inn, halfway through a mouth-watering steak, than just about any other restaurant.  I have a feeling that Nucky would have agreed.
