Haunted Hotel

hotel

The Haunted Hotel is an absolute Halloween tradition in Louisville.  After all, who doesn't remember kicking off the season with a visit, anxiously waiting in line as you wonder what's in store this year? Visitors come from several states away to witness this haunt for themselves, so that they can see firsthand if the "shocking" stories are true,

But that's not the most traumatic detail about this attraction. The actors inside can actually touch you.  You can expect a good deal of poking, grabbing, a little bit of pushing, and if you have long hair, well, you may just want to wear it up.  It is often difficult to see what may be happening in the darkness, because it truly turns into "every man for himself" as you are literally put on defensive guard as you go into survival mode.

And yes, I do say "survive," as you begin to wonder just how they'll push the boundaries of a typical haunted house experience next! Sure... the monsters aren't "real," but they are real enough to push you into a corner to whisper vile things into your ears, or to grab you by the shoulders and remind you that you probably won't get out alive, while pressing you against a table strewn with bits and pieces of what appears to have once been a person.

In short, this is utter, brilliant terror, so don't plan on sleeping alone after your visit. And definitely, most absolutely, do not turn off the lights.

The Haunted Hotel will be open through early November.
