A Wonderful Life

Derby Dinner Playhouse will present the beloved Holiday favorite, A WONDERFUL LIFE, running through December 31, 2014.

Based on the Frank Capra film, this inspiring story of George Bailey is adapted brilliantly to the Derby Dinner Playhouse stage. As Bailey is taken through scenes of how the world would play out if he wasn't in it, his guardian angel illustrates just how important his life has been.

The book and lyrics for A WONDERFUL LIFE were written by Sheldon Harnick, with music by Joe Raposo. Songs featured are "If I Had A Wish", "A Wonderful Life", and "Wings".

Derby Dinner Playhouse's production of A WONDERFUL LIFE is directed by Lee Buckholz, with choreography by Heather Paige Folsom and Musical Director Scott Bradley.

The role of George Bailey is played by Edward Miskie, fresh to the Derby Dinner stage. His complete embodiment of the role is just brilliant. He easily takes the audience along on the roller coaster ride that his life has quickly become.

The cast also includes Sara King, Jim Hesselman, Debbie King-Raque, Elizabeth Loos, Cary Wiger, Matthew Brennan, and more!

Cary Wiger is just heartwarming in the role of Clarence! He performs with the exact mix of enthusiam, comedy, and humility that one would expect from a guardian angel, anxious to get his "Wings", which is one of the best renditions I have seen to date.

The Derby Dinner Playhouse is located in Clarksville, Indiana... right over the bridge from Louisville, Kentucky. It is a theater in the round, and has been in operation since 1974, making it one of the oldest and largest continuously operating theatres in the country!

You will receive a top notch production for your ticket price, plus a delicious meal, served buffet style, boasting favorites like fried chicken, mouth-watering pasta selections, and a meat carving station. Some of the best desserts around are also offered, like the peanut butter pie or the brownie sundae!

Be there early for the Footnotes, Derby Dinner Playhouse's very own musical spectacular, singing sneak peaks from upcoming shows, or additional selections connected to the night's main attraction. For this performance, expect plenty of holiday favorites to get you in the mood!
