Quest for Rewards

By Angela Ash

road-trip

So, ever so often, a promotion comes along that "gets it right". If you frequent casinos often, there are plenty of marketing efforts involved, from free toasters and complimentary all-you-can-eat buffets to luxurious cruises and suites overlooking the Strip, right in the heart of Vegas. However, how many of these promotions actually offer the rewards that entice you to frequent their casinos and, more importantly, are realistically achievable for the average player?

Total Rewards, the loyalty program for the highly recognizable Caesars properties, has devised a plan to reward loyal players with chances to win a slew of prizes, PLUS achieve a higher-tiered status that was once reserved for only an elite level of gambler. Start packing your bags, because you have just been handed a brilliant excuse for a road trip!

In this promotion, Total Rewards will be handing out online badges for each Caesars property that you visit and earn 25 tier score points at. When you earn these badges, you will also be rewarded bonus tier points. Once you reach a particular number of badges, you will earn another bonus portion of tier points. If you're not in the know, tier points are earned to determine your particular card status at the property. With a high-tiered card, you receive a myriad of amenities when you gamble at a Caesars property, like comped rooms, entrance into the Diamond Lounge and a host of other benefits.

Now, there are a grand total of 36 casino properties under the Total Rewards banner. If you can somehow managed to visit all 36, then you will receive a whopping 13,500 tier points, which is just 1,500 away from achieving Diamond status. Add in those 25 points you need to earn at each property, and you are well on your way to becoming an authentic VIP, with the chance of even wining ONE MILLION reward credits or a FREE upgrade to a Seven Stars card, with even more benefits than the Diamond tier.

But where this promotion really excels is that the regular, casual gamer can easily accrue 25 tier points at a property, without dropping a load of cash. In most machines, $5 will give you one point. So, you can easily see how this is manageable and NOT just for the rich and famous. For all of the details, check out the official rules and regulations HERE

Being that I am a traveling vagabond by nature, my husband and I have decided to set off on this country-wide adventure, with a goal to visit ALL 36 Total Rewards properties. I will be updating my travels, as well as providing important information for any others on the quest, including property details and even some fun places to check out along the way. Click back often for updates!

As Jack Kerouac said, "There was nowhere to go but everywhere."

harrahscherokeebed

Nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains in Cherokee, North Carolina, Harrah's Cherokee encompasses every bit of the word "resort". Adjacent to a rippling creek, if you want to mix in some relaxation with your gaming, you have come to the right spot! Upon arrival, you will be wowed with the elegant lobby, which leads to one of several hotel towers, many with breathtaking views and ALL with beautifully styled rooms with that rustic-chic feel. If you want to splurge, this is most definitely the property to spend those reward dollars on a suite!

The gaming floor is HUGE, including your favorite table games and slot machines, plus a WSOP poker room. If you are dedicated enough to already have your Diamond card, the lounge is welcoming, serving both lunch AND dinner, which is a real treat! The dining options at this property are diverse, with the buffet, a food court with a Johnny Rockets, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and the aromatic BRIO Tuscan Grille, just to name a few. Plus, there's also a full-service spa, a swimming pool, golf and a nightclub.

Always be sure to see what particular promotions each property might be running. Now, during our visit, both Cherokee hotels gave $20 in free play for nights that you opt out of housekeeping during a multi-night stay. How's that for going green?

If you travel a bit into town, you will find plenty to do. Make sure to stop in the Museum of the Cherokee Indian!

BADGES 19-27: Las Vegas

harrahsvegas

There is no place on the planet quite like Las Vegas. You can relax by the pool, sipping an expertly crafted cocktail in the afternoon, and indulge in shows, dinner and the best gaming in the world by night. Caesars Entertainment pretty much rules the Las Vegas Strip, with a total of nine properties to choose from, all offering unique styles and adventures. We spent nearly a week in Sin City, racking up tier score points and ejoying every second of what Vegas has to offer. Let's take a look at what you can expect for a girls' getaway, a romantic weekend or a full-blown vacation.

First, let's cover the basics. Caesars Entertainment's nine Vegas properties include: Casesars Palace, the Flamingo, Paris, Rio, the LINQ , Ballys, Harrah's, the Cromwell and Planet Hollywood. These casinos offer the best in gaming action, with all of your favorite slots, table games, racing and sports books, Keno and more. Plus, expect WSOP poker rooms at nearly all of these locations!

All nine casinos offer not only gaming, but dining, hotel rooms and sparkling swimming pools to help beat the Vegas heat. However, each is unique, with plenty of options to personalize your stay in vegas!

Caesars Palace is the crown jewel of these properties, with decor that makes you feel as if you have just entered the Roman Empire during its prime. When you want unparalleled luxury, this is where to find it. Spend the day at QUA Baths and Spa or by the best pool on the Vegas Strip, or take in headliners like Elton John or Celine Dion. With a plethora of dining options, our favorite is absolutely Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill.

The Flamingo is one of our favorites due to its lively history, opening in 1946 by Bugsy Siegel. Plus, for you nature lovers, you can find an animal habitat on property, complete with flamingos. The spa at the Flamingo is also a favorite. When hunger calls, the Flamingo has some of the best dining options in all of Vegas. The Paradise Garden Buffet boasts a delectable brunch, including mimosas and champagne. But when you want amazing food in a high-energy setting, you should head straight to Margaritaville. The service is impeccable, the food divine, and you never know what may thrill you next in this fun-filled setting. Don't miss it!

Paris absolutely envelops its guests with the luxury and "feel" of France, complete with a replica Eiffel Tower and restaurant, along with eateries that literally transform into Parisian cafes right before your eyes. Café Ile St. Louis is fantastic for breakfast!

paris

Next, pop into the Cromwell, which is the newest property. It offers an intimate, classy vibe that can literally coax you into spending a good portion of your night right there! But many come for Drai's, the 65,000-square-foot nightclub, located poolside on the roof.

If you want to experience a bit more of classic Vegas, Bally's offers all this and more! Right at the center of the Strip, it's the perfect place to play blackjack, dine at BLT Steak or take in a show, like the spine-tingling Paranormal!

The LINQ has been utterly transformed into a shopping, dining and adventure mecca! However, the excitement piques with the High Roller, an observation wheel offering 30-minute rides with views that will make your jaw drop!

If you love movies, then Planet Hollywood is the casino for you! Surrounded by memorabilia from the silver screen, indulge in shopping at the Mile High Shops, or dine at Gordan Ramsay Burger or Pin-Up Pizza.

Harrah's brings a bit of the Big Easy to the Vegas Strip, with a festive atmosphere and gaming, dining and shopping galore. Be sure to see the Tenors of Rock during your visit, and don't miss one of the best buffets in Vegas, Flavors.

pen

If you're ready to step a bit off the strip, jump on a free shuttle and stop in at the Rio, boasting a carnival-type atmosphere and a pool with a real sand bottom. Get your tickets in advance for Penn & Teller, and if you're a poker player, stop in the WSOP poker room, which plays host to the World Series of Poker every year.
