Bourbon & Beyond 2018

Bourbon & Beyond was slated to take over Champions Park in Louisville, Kentucky, on September 22 and 23. Mother Nature seemed to have other plans.

On Day One, the rain was coming down, but that didn't dampen the spirits of festival-goers, as they bought nearly every poncho off store shelves to do their best to stay dry while they prepared to see a mix of performers, ranging from new-to-the-charts artists and absolute legends.

Of course, Bourbon & Beyond, now in its second year, offers attendees much more than stages packed with live music performances. This festival celebrates Bourbon, which is often referred to as the spirit of Kentucky, so innovative food and drink experiences are also on the bill.

One such company from Bardstown showcased their establishment, Bottle & Bond Kitchen & Bar, which is located at the Bardstown Bourbon Company. You may be familiar with the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, but the Bardstown Bourbon Company has created something new for bourbon drinkers. They are the first distillery on the trail to offer guests a full-service restaurant. With an already amazing experience, this is sure to engage visitors even more with what this innovative brand has to offer!

So, while you're sipping your favorite bourbon, the acts began to take the stage, not at all affected by the weather. Festival goers experienced acts like Brian Setzer's Rockabilly Riot, Sheryl Crow, David Byrne, Lenny Kravitz and John Mayer. 

One of the funnier moments of the night occurred during Sheryl Crow's stellar set, which included "Soak Up the Sun," met with thunderous applause and laughter from Crow.

Unfortunately, Day Two of the festival has been canceled due to flooding and unsafe conditions at Champions Parks. But never fear, because the festival will be back with a vengeance next year. For refund information, you can visit Bourbon & Beyond HERE.
