My Fair Lady

Broadway Across America

By Angela Ash

As the lights go down and the curtain goes up, it's easy to remember why a Broadway revival can be a stunning, beautiful thing. Perhaps it's the magic of mixing something old with something new, and being able to sit back and revel in the unique creation that it becomes. As anxious faces throughout the theater turn from mounting expectations to genuine exhilaration at the intricate sets and highly-detailed costumes begin to flood the stage, it's apparent that My Fair Lady is going to be a hit - in a number of revealing ways.

My Fair Lady is a show that brings back the glory days of memorable music numbers that should belong on any serious Showtunes playlist. These characters seamlessly flow from one scene to the next, including favorites like "Wouldn't It Be Loverly," "The Rain in Spain," "I Could Have Danced All Night" and "On the Street Where You Live."

Shereen Ahmed takes on the role of Eliza Doolittle as if it were made for her, while Laird Mackintosh brings Professor Henry Higgins to life in a fun, unexpected way that makes this performance truly unique. And with a delightful cast that adds character and warmth to each scene, My Fair Lady is not to be missed!
