THE MUSIC MAN will be playing at the Derby Dinner Playhouse through August 20th, and it is the second play of the 2017/2018 season. This beloved musical is one of the most requested productions nationwide, so we are just thrilled that the Derby Dinner Playhouse is putting their signature touch on this memorable tale!

When Harold Hill comes to River City, Iowa, he knows that he has his work cut out for him to run his latest scam, which is setting up a boys marching band. As he begins to win over the hearts of the town people, including Marion, the local librarian and piano teacher, he finds that this city and its people aren't exactly what he had expected.

The book, music and lyrics for THE MUSIC MAN were written by Meredith Willson.  This Broadway classic features such exciting, toe-tapping song-and-dance routines as: “Seventy-Six Trombones”, “The Wells Fargo Wagon”, “Till There Was You”, “Goodnight My Someone” and many more.

THE MUSIC MAN is under the direction of Lee Buckholz with choreography by Megan Bliss and musical direction by Scott Bradley.  The cast will include Derby Dinner favorites Sara King as Marian Paroo and Tyler Bliss as Harold Hill.  Other cast members are Matthew Brennan, John Payonk, Dana Jo Adams, Elizabeth Loos and more.

King and Bliss have a wonderful chemistry, breathing new life to numbers like "Till There Was You." Of course, Matthew Brennan is magnificent in the role of Marcellus, friend to Harold Hill and the focal point of many huge rounds of applause for the evening.  And be on the lookout for young Josiah Richardson in the part of Winthrop. Has "Gary, Indiana" ever sounded so sweet?

The Derby Dinner Playhouse is located in Clarksville, Indiana... right over the bridge from Louisville, Kentucky. It is a theater in the round, and has been in operation since 1974, making it one of the oldest and largest continuously operating theatres in the country!

You will always receive a top notch production for your ticket price, along with a mouth-watering meal, served buffet style, boasting favorites like fried catfish, mouth-watering pasta selections and a meat carving station. Some of the best desserts around are also offered, along with a delicious special occasion cake!
